A clutch assembly allows the engine and the gearbox to be engaged and disengaged. This is done by releasing pressure. The release of pressure disengages the drive from the engine, allowing the driver to stop without stalling the engine or to select another gear.
The reliability of a clutch release bearing is directly linked to the quality of the design and of the material from which it is made. Years of experience in designing and supplying clutch release bearings to the worlds vehicle manufacturers is incorporated in every unit in the CR/SKF range.
Self-aligning clutch release bearings from CR/SKF are designed to control certain clutch conditions associated with the misalignment of driveline components. This design represents the first truly clutch compatible bearing with its patented variable contact raceway geometry. It permits maximum speeds at maximum loads and is not available in any other products of this type. The design has also been proven to have the long life necessary to qualify as heavy-duty for modern four and five speed transmissions.
Features:
Anti-rotation feature: Solid steel roll-pin across the bearing fork-groove prevents rotation damage to carrier in constant running applications.
Exclusive variable contact design: Our self-aligning bearing accepts misaligned loads from any angle... even under conditions where the bearing is tilted away from the engine or transmission centerline. This variable contact design assures a longer life by resisting wear. It also minimizes noise and vibration.
Innovative Sealing Design: A patented "T" type separator and bore liner comprise a unique sealing system that excludes contamination and retains grease.
