SKF has solved the biggest air system problem of compressor oil blow-by with the money saving internal oil separator.
The new Turbo-2000 Integrated Oil Separator is an internal accessory for the Brakemaster Series of air dryer, removing oil contaminants introduced into the air system via the vehicle's air compressor.
The high compressor duty cycle inherent to heavy braking applications such as transit buses eventually creates many problems:
- Oil infiltrating the desiccant and shortening the cartridge service life.
- Damaged dryer and downstream valving.
- Coked up discharge line causing reduced air flow.
- Compressors work harder and shortens service life.
- Reduced air capacity as tanks fill with oil.
